Nail of the Day - Er Week?

Instead of an eye of the day I present Nail of the Day (/week(s)) lol. I'm usually not real big on doing anything fancy with my nails, except for maybe crackle (I don't have the patience lol). But I was doing the nails of the girls I babysit and decided to do my own as well. Pink and orange just felt very summery and festive to me :)

The Colors:

Pardon the messy-ness. I hadn't had a chance to clean them up at all when I took these pics

The Peanut Gallery: BH Cosmetics 24/7 Liner

BH Cosmetics recently came out with a 24/7 EyeLiner which caught my attention. First of all they describe it as the perfect cross between a pen and a brush; the only other liner I know of that is in a pen like style are the Tokidoki Perfecto Liner, which, while they seem awesome, are a bit pricey. Second of all they claim it is long lasting and that it will not drip, smear, or bleed. All of this for a price tag of $3.95 (plus shipping and handling). Sounds kind of too good to be true, right? I decided to see for myself.

Packaging:

Closed this liner looks legitimately like a marker. :

If you think about it that is kind of handy, you can toss it in your purse with out worrying about the cap falling off (it actually clicks when it goes on versus just sliding on like the lid of so many pencil liners). I've lost track of how many times I've had the lid come off a pencil liner fall off in my makeup bag and the tip of the pencil break off (thus wasting precious product and making a mess in my bag). It's definitely sort of a no frills packaging, there's no fancy design on it or anything but really when I buy a product I'm ok with not paying for extra little details on the packaging (saves me money lol).
Despite the simplistic design I like it.

pardon the yellowish tint to this one, it's the lighting
The Product: So, does it live up to it's promises?
In my book yes. It goes on easily, no bleeding or running during or after application (when applying over shadow, I haven't tried to apply it by itself). It stays put too. This stuff isn't waterproof  but it should stand up to slightly watery eyes even a tear or too. Full blown crying (long story) resulted in this stuff only getting messed up a lil in the corners of my eyes and the liner that was in the very outside corners of my eyes ran a little bit. But it never claimed to be waterproof. Waterworks aside this stuff stays put all day. I'm definitely impressed.

Here is the same swatches as above after rubbing at it (it only looks duller due to lighting change I promise in real life it looks exactly the same as before).

Applicator:
Soooo what about this pen marker hybrid? Essentially it looks like a felt tip marker or felt tip pen. See:

The very very tip of it is a teensy bit flimsy but not so much that it makes it hard to work with. (Just thought I should mention it since the very very tip didn't really show up well in the picture). This liner is very easy to work with. I haven't used a liquid liner in months and last time I attempted to use a normal liquid liner it didn't go very well. With this marker it's really easy to do super thin lines (as well as thick ones).  Things like dots are pretty easy as well.

Yes these are simple however considering how liquid liner challenged I am it's an accomplishment for me :P

Price: You really can't beat 3.95 for a liner that works this well. It's an additional $1.99 in shipping for anywhere in the US, still not bad. Also, you can order more than one liner at a time with out the price for shipping going up, so if you stock up for a while (or buy one for your purse, one for your car, etc. it's not so bad)

Overall: I'm not big on liquid liners but I really like this one.
  • It's portable
  • It's affordable
  • It stays put
  • It's easy to work with
I would definitely recommend this product and I would most definitely buy it again.

UPDATE:
BH has sadly discontinued the 24/7 Liner :(
