Battle of the Crackles!: OPI versus Pure Ice

Left: OPI Shatter in Black Shatter
Right: Pure Ice in Strobe Light

Since the crackle polish craze began many companies have developed their own line of crackles. Some have been great some not so much *cough*SallyHansenCracklePolish*cough* Until you try them out it's hard to know which brands will rock and which ones will flop. In search of a black crackle and unable to find OPI crackle anywhere I picked up some Pure Ice Crackle for around $4 to tide me over until the OPI or China Glaze were in stock somewhere. A few days late I found OPI Shatter black polish at Ulta for $8.50. So, which one wins this battle of the crackles?

*insert epic announcers voice* Stay tuned to find out!

Two fingers are painted with OPI Shatter and two are painted with Pure Ice Crackle
Can you guess which is which?
I sure as heck wouldn't be able to if I didn't already know.
So as not to leave you wondering for all eternity (because you know you would totally obsess over it for the rest of your days, lol jk) I'll reveal the answer in a little bit.

I was shocked, the Pure Ice Crackle works just as well as the OPI Shatter! Bonus: It's $4.50 cheaper! Also, there was no real notable difference in smell (thought I'd mention it because sometimes less expensive polishes reek to high heaven). Obviously the packaging for the OPI is a little more visually appealing but not worth spending an extra $4.50 for! I definitely intend to buy more of the Pure Ice crackles in the future and I will let you all know if the other colors work as well as the black does *fingers crossed*

For now I declare Pure Ice Crackle the winner!

I would definitely recommend checking out your local Walgreens to look for Pure Ice crackle because hey that $4.50 you save could go towards other beauty goodies!

Now what you all have been waiting for! The answer to the question!

UPDATE: I recently noticed that the Pure Ice one does take a little bit longer to dry and I definitely recommend using a top coat for both of them. They look kinda blah and matte with out them

UPDATE2: I recently tried a few more of Pure Ice's crackles and not all of them work as well as the black. Thus far I can tell you that the orange works well but the lighter of their blue crackles really doesn't crackle much.

Pardon the super short nails and the lack of clean up
